Tremron Bathroom Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
A full Tremron bathroom remodeling project in Los Angeles typically runs $10,620 to $33,040 installed, depending on whether you’re replacing a single fixture or tearing out to the studs. We stock Tremron-compatible surrounds, pans, and trim kits, and we can usually begin work within a week of your written estimate. Most Los Angeles homeowners call us when a Tremron surround has cracked at a seam, a pan is flexing under foot, or the factory finish has started delaminating after years of hard water and steam.
Bradford Remodeling is an independent contractor in Los Angeles, not affiliated with Tremron. We work with Tremron products because they’re common in homes across the Basin, and we know how they fail. That matters when you’re deciding whether to patch or replace.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron isn’t one product line. It’s a family of polymer and composite bath systems, and the model matters. If your Los Angeles home was built or renovated between 1998 and 2015, you’re most likely dealing with a Tremron gelcoat surround or a Tremron acrylic pan. The gelcoat series has a high-gloss finish that looks great on day one but tends to micro-crack near the top corners where the surround meets the wall. The acrylic pans are a different animal: they resist cracking well, but the substrate underneath rarely gets set level, and that’s where flex and eventual seam separation start.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most owners miss: Tremron pans and surrounds are not always interchangeable across series. A Tremron 60-inch pan from the gelcoat era won’t always mate cleanly with a newer trim kit, because the lip geometry changed slightly around 2012. Before we order or install anything, we pull the old part, check the stamp on the back side, and match it by measurement, not by memory. The concern is mold intrusion. The fix is a proper removal and reset.
If you can’t find the label, measure the pan’s outside flange width and the surround’s corner radius. A 3/8-inch corner radius is the older gelcoat series. A 1/4-inch radius is the newer composite. That one measurement tells us more than a model name ever will.
As for OEM versus aftermarket: Tremron still makes replacement pans and surrounds for most older series, but lead times from the factory can stretch six to eight weeks. Quality aftermarket pans from companies that water-jet cut to Tremron’s original dims are usually in stock within a week, often at 20 to 30 percent lower material cost. We carry both options on our product list and we’ll show you the price difference in writing before you commit.

Signs Your Tremron Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Flex in the pan when you step in. The pan was set over an uneven substrate or the mortar bed has crumbled. Every step stresses the drain seal, and a pan that flexes will eventually pull the drain body loose under the house or slab. That’s a water leak waiting to happen, not just a comfort issue.
- Separation at the corner seams. Tremron surrounds are modular, and the seams rely on factory gaskets and silicone. In Los Angeles, temperature swings between day and night cause expansion and contraction that breaks those seals over a decade. Once a seam opens even an eighth of an inch, water migrates behind the surround.
- Micro-cracking in the finish, especially near the shower head. Gelcoat finishes crack under point stress and repeated thermal cycling. Los Angeles water is hard, and mineral deposits creep into those hairline cracks, widening them over time. Eventually the cracks go through to the substrate and start pulling moisture into the wall cavity.
- Persistent mildew smell in the bathroom, even after cleaning. That smell is almost always hidden water. If water has been sitting in the wall cavity behind the Tremron surround, cleaning the visible surface won’t touch it. We find this most often in older Los Angeles homes where the original bathroom lacked adequate ventilation.
- Staining or bubbling at the trim plate around the valve. The seal at the plumbing escutcheon fails silently. Water runs down the inside of the surround and pools behind the pan lip. You won’t see it until the drywall below starts to stain or the baseboard swells.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here are the installed price ranges we quote in Los Angeles for Tremron-specific work:
- Tub-to-shower conversion with Tremron-compatible surround and pan: $4,130 to $11,800
- Walk-in shower installation, Tremron-style pan and full surround: $5,310 to $14,160
- Full Tremron bathroom remodel, including surround, pan, vanity, and fixtures: $10,620 to $33,040
- Surround-only replacement, reusing the existing pan: $2,360 to $7,670
What drives the range? The size of the opening, the condition of the subfloor after we pull the old pan, whether the shower valve needs to be relocated to meet current Los Angeles code, and whether you’re moving from a tub to a curbless shower, which changes the drain configuration. We give you a written price before any work starts, and that’s the number you pay. No numbers that move at the door. Every Tremron-related job we complete carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work fails inside the first year, we come back and correct it at no charge. That promise is in writing, on every job, every time.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things yourself: shove on the pan edges with your foot to see if it flexes, look for separation at the seams, and run a bead of water along the joints to see if it pools. But I wouldn’t pull a Tremron pan or surround on your own. The demolition itself isn’t dangerous, but you’re working in a wet wall with plumbing supply lines, a drain connection under the slab, and often a load-bearing wall behind the surround. Getting the substrate flat and properly sloped is the difference between a pan that lasts twenty years and one that cracks in three. We’ve reset more than a few DIY attempts in Los Angeles where the homeowner got the pan in, watched it flex, and then called us anyway. If you’re in that spot, we’re at (903) 568-7222. We’ll give you a straight answer and a written price.
FAQs

A Tremron surround that was installed correctly and kept reasonably dry will last 15 to 25 years in the Los Angeles climate, with the main failure point being seam separation from the city’s day-to-night temperature swings. The pan usually outlasts the surround unless the substrate was uneven to begin with, which we see in roughly a third of the older installs we open up. Call (903) 568-7222 if you want us to inspect yours and give you a straight answer on remaining life.
Small gelcoat cracks near the top corners can sometimes be patched with a color-matched repair kit and hold for a few years. But if the crack runs through the substrate or the seam has opened, repair is a temporary bandage, and the honest answer is replacement. Bradford will tell you which one applies before you spend a dollar. Call (903) 568-7222 for a free estimate.
For a surround-and-pan swap, expect two to three days on site. Day one is demolition and substrate prep, day two is pan set and surround install, and day three is trim-out, caulking, and waterproofing touches. A full Tremron bathroom remodel with vanity and fixtures takes one to two weeks depending on the plumbing scope. We cover the timeline in the written estimate so you know what the week will look like.
We have relationships with Los Angeles and national distributors who carry Tremron-compatible pans and surrounds, and we can usually have the parts in hand within a week. We also stock several aftermarket brands cut to Tremron dimensions for faster turnarounds. When we quote your job, we’ll line-item the parts and materials so you see exactly what’s coming from where. Call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll check stock for your model before you commit.
