Bufftech Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
Bradford Remodeling installs and replaces Bufftech-compatible kitchen remodeling components throughout Los Angeles, with full kitchen remodels typically running $16,520 to $53,100 depending on cabinet run, surface material, and the condition of what’s underneath the old work. Most Bufftech owners call us when a cabinet face has delaminated, a drawer slide has seized, or the substrate behind a sink run has started to swell, and a whole-section replacement is no longer avoidable. You’ll get a written price before we start, and the work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing.
We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with Bufftech, and we stock replacement hardware and components that match Bufftech cabinet boxes, door profiles, and hinge systems. Straight number, real scope, no surprises at the punch list.
Which Bufftech Models This Applies To

Bufftech’s kitchen line runs on a few distinct cabinet platforms, and the compatibility gotcha is in the hinge and slide hardware, not just the door style. Older Bufftech runs from the mid-2000s typically used three-quarter-inch face-frame boxes with concealed European cup hinges at a 35mm bore. Later series shifted to frameless construction, which changes the overlay math if you’re matching a single replacement door or drawer front. If you look inside a cabinet door, Bufftech stamps its series code on the hinge-side stile or the drawer box bottom, usually two letters followed by four digits.
We match to that code, not to a catalog photo. For hardware, we stock Blum and Salice motion slides that drop into Bufftech’s standard 42mm hole pattern, which covers the bulk of what we see in Los Angeles kitchens from the last 20 years. There’s also an OEM-versus-aftermarket decision: Bufftech-branded hinges are a direct match but run 30 to 50 percent more than a quality aftermarket equivalent that meets the same bore and overlay spec. If the box itself is solid, we usually recommend the aftermarket slide and spend the savings on soft-close dampers. If the box has water damage, no hinge in the world will fix it, and we’re back to section replacement.

Signs Your Bufftech Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Drawer fronts tilt or bind when you pull them. The undermount slide has worn its nylon rollers, so the drawer rides low and scrapes the face frame. Replacement slides fix this if the drawer box bottom hasn’t been scored by the rail.
- Cabinet doors sag and won’t stay closed. The hinge’s internal spring has lost tension or the mounting plate screws have stripped. On Bufftech’s frameless series, a single bad hinge will drag the whole door out of alignment.
- The panel behind the sink is swollen or soft at the edges. This is substrate failure, usually MDF or particleboard that took on water from a failed sink seal. In Los Angeles, this shows up faster in older homes without kitchen venting, because cooking moisture has nowhere to go.
- Laminate or thermofoil is peeling off door edges. Heat from a nearby oven or dishwasher vent breaks the adhesive bond over years. Bufftech thermofoil doors near a built-in oven are the most common repeat offender we see.
- Adjustable shelf clips keep cracking or the shelf drops. The original clips were sized for a lighter shelf load than the kitchen actually carries. Upgrading to metal clips with a heavier shelf material usually ends the cycle.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Bufftech-compatible kitchen remodel in Los Angeles runs $16,520 to $53,100. The spread is driven by three things: how much of the cabinetry needs rebuilding versus refacing, what surface material you choose, and whether the substrate behind the old work is sound or needs to come out. A small kitchen remodel runs $10,620 to $23,600. Cabinet installation alone lands between $4,720 and $15,340, and countertop installation between $2,360 and $7,670.
Every bid we write in Los Angeles includes the line-item parts cost, the labor, the haul-off, and the written scope, so the price doesn’t creep at the door. We install with documented brands like KraftMaid and Cambria when the job calls for new boxes or a new surface, and we match existing Bufftech hardware where the boxes are worth keeping. The work is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it fails inside that year, we come back and correct it at no charge. That’s in writing, not implied.
DIY or Call Us?
There are a few checks you can do safely before you call. Pull a drawer out and look at the slide’s rating label, usually stamped in grams or pounds. If the slide is rated for 75 pounds and the drawer is loaded with cast-iron cookware, that’s a load problem, not a hardware failure. You can also check hinge screws with a screwdriver: if the screw spins without tightening, the bore is stripped, and the fix is a larger-diameter screw or a repair bushing, both of which we carry.
What we don’t recommend is tackling frameless cabinet reinstallation yourself. Bufftech’s frameless series relies on precise reveal spacing between doors and drawer fronts. If that spacing is off by two millimeters, every front in the run will look crooked. The fix usually costs more than a service call. If you’re in Los Angeles and the hardware is beyond a screw check, call us at (903) 568-7222 and we’ll send a background-checked, uniformed technician to look at what’s actually failing. The estimate is free.
FAQs

Bufftech kitchen cabinets typically last 20 to 30 years in Los Angeles when installed in a dry, ventilated kitchen, but hinges and drawer slides usually need replacement around the 10- to 15-year mark. The climate matters: low humidity is easier on wood than coastal moisture, but heat from unvented ovens and direct sun through west-facing windows shortens thermofoil life. If the boxes are square and dry, new hardware buys another decade. If the substrate is compromised, replacement is the honest answer. Call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll tell you which one you’re looking at.
Yes, we can repair most Bufftech cabinet doors, but it depends on what failed. Stripped hinge bores, worn slides, and loose corner braces are repairable, often for a few hundred dollars in parts and labor. Peeled thermofoil and swollen substrate are not repairable; the material has failed, and the fix is a new door or section. We’ll tell you straight which side of that line your kitchen falls on. Estimates are free at (903) 568-7222.
A full hardware swap on a standard Bufftech kitchen, meaning all hinges and drawer slides, takes one to two days for a two-person crew, including door and drawer alignment. A single failing drawer or door usually takes under two hours once we have eyes on the part. We stock common Bufftech-pattern slides and hinges on the truck, so most smaller jobs don’t wait on a parts order. Call (903) 568-7222 for scheduling and a written price.
We stock Bufftech-compatible Blum and Salice hinges, undermount slides in the standard 42mm pattern, and repair bushings and screws on the truck and in our Los Angeles shop. Bufftech-branded OEM pieces are special-ordered when a direct brand match is required, usually three to five business days out. For most kitchen hardware failures, the aftermarket equivalent works and costs less, and we’ll show you both prices before you choose. Call (903) 568-7222 to check what we have in stock today.
