Jerith Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If you’ve got a Jerith driveway or paver system with a failed section, we stock and install Jerith-compatible driveway and paver components throughout Los Angeles. Typical installed replacement pricing runs $8260 to $21240 for a full paver driveway, while isolated section repairs and individual part swaps run lower depending on square footage and substrate condition. Most Los Angeles homeowners discover the problem the same way: a sunken corner after winter rain, a cracked cap stone, or an edge row that’s started to wander into the neighbor’s yard.
We’re an independent Los Angeles contractor, not a Jerith dealer. What that means for you is simple: we match the part, price it in writing, and install it to hold. We don’t have to push one brand’s catalog. We stock what actually holds up in Southern California clay soil and drought-and-deluge weather cycles.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith’s aluminum ornamental fence and driveway gate lines are the ones we see most often in Los Angeles yards, paired with paver driveways from Belgard and Unilock. The compatibility gotcha most owners run into is post size. Jerith residential fence posts are typically 2-inch by 2-inch square aluminum, but their heavier driveway gate posts run 3-inch schedule 40 or thicker. You can’t pull a fence post and drop it into a driveway gate hinge assembly, and vice versa. Measure the post, then match it to the gate leaf weight before you buy anything.
On the paver side, Jerith doesn’t manufacture pavers. They make the aluminum structures; the pavers come from Belgard, Unilock, or a regional yard. In Los Angeles, most Jerith driveway setups we service use either a 60mm or 80mm paver on a compacted aggregate base. The 60mm works for pedestrian areas and light vehicle traffic. For a driveway that sees a full-size SUV or pickup daily, 80mm is the floor. If someone installed 60mm pavers under a driveway, that’s the first thing that fails. We see it in West Adams and Leimert Park all the time.
OEM Jerith parts are machined to tight tolerances and they cost accordingly. For hinges, latches, and gate leafs, OEM is usually the right call. For paver replacements, a quality aftermarket from Belgard or Unilock often matches or exceeds what was originally installed, and it carries a manufacturer spec sheet we can hand you.

Signs Your Jerith Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Gate leaf sagging at the latch side. This is almost always a post that’s leaning or a hinge that’s wallowed out. In Los Angeles, the freeze-thaw cycle isn’t the issue, but clay soil expansion after winter rain shifts footings enough to put a permanent lean on a post.
- Pavers sinking in a low spot near the curb or drain. Water is getting under the base layer and washing out the fines. What looks like one bad paver is usually a base failure under six square feet of paving.
- Aluminum finish chalking white and leaving residue on hands. That’s the factory powder coat breaking down. It’s cosmetic at first, but once the coating fails, the bare aluminum starts oxidizing and pitting, especially within a few miles of the coast.
- Gate won’t latch or latches too hard. Los Angeles heat makes aluminum post mounts expand and contract. Over a few summers, the striker alignment drifts just enough that the latch binds. A homeowner will shim it, but the shim just masks the alignment problem.
- Edge pavers pulling away from the driveway border. No edge restraint, or a failing one. Spike-in aluminum edging holds for a while in Los Angeles, but once it bends, the whole edge row walks outward and the driveway starts losing its line.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Jerith-compatible paver driveway replacement in Los Angeles runs $8260 to $21240 installed. A driveway replacement that includes demolition of the old surface and new base prep runs $5900 to $16520 depending on depth and access. Isolated paver section repairs run less; we’ll quote the actual square footage, not a flat guess.
What drives the range: total square footage, paver thickness (60mm vs 80mm), whether the existing base can be salvaged or needs re-compaction, and access to the job. A tight Los Angeles hillside lot with no side yard access takes longer than a flat mid-city driveway with a wide apron. Every quote includes parts, labor, haul-off, base prep, and edge restraint in one written number. No add-ons at the door. Every install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the pavers shift or the gate binds within the first year, we come back and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
A homeowner can safely lift a single paver, check whether the base underneath is washed out, and confirm whether the edge restraint is still intact. That’s useful information for us and we’ll walk you through it over the phone. What you shouldn’t do is pull a gate leaf off a Jerith hinge assembly without a second person and a proper brace. A full-size aluminum driveway gate under tension can swing hard enough to break bones or knock a ladder out from under someone. That’s not a scare line; it’s the same warning we give our own crew.
If the base is gone, the post is leaning, or the gate won’t latch, that’s a call to (903) 568-7222. We’ll come out, measure, and give you a written price before any work starts.
FAQs

A properly installed Jerith aluminum gate assembly should last 20 to 30 years in Los Angeles, and pavers on a correctly compacted base should last 25 years or more. The weak points are the powder coat finish and the paver base. Coastal salt air shortens the coating life; clay soil movement shortens the base life. We see gate hardware fail before pavers in most Los Angeles yards. Call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll tell you what you’re actually looking at on your property.
Sometimes. A re-aligned strike plate or a replaced hinge pin is a repair. A leaning post with a cracked footing is a replacement. For pavers, one or two cracked units can be swapped, but if the base is gone, new pavers on a bad base will fail again within a year. We’ll give you a straight answer on-site. Call (903) 568-7222 for an exact assessment.
A single gate hinge or paver section repair is usually a half-day job. A full driveway paver replacement in Los Angeles takes two to four days depending on access and square footage, including demolition, base prep, install, and compaction. We’ll put the schedule in writing with your price.
We stock common Jerith hinge assemblies, latch hardware, and post caps on the truck. Gate leafs and custom post lengths are ordered to specification, usually a few days out. Pavers from Belgard and Unilock are stocked at local Los Angeles supply yards, which keeps lead times short. Call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll tell you if your part is on the truck today.
