KraftMaid Bathroom Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

If you’re holding a KraftMaid vanity door that won’t close square, a drawer face that’s delaminated, or hinge hardware that’s stripped out, here’s the straight answer: we stock and install KraftMaid-compatible bathroom remodeling components across Los Angeles, and a full bathroom remodel using KraftMaid cabinetry typically runs $10,620 to $33,040 installed. We can usually get replacement parts matched and installed within a week, depending on what’s failed and whether it’s still under KraftMaid’s manufacturer warranty.

Call (903) 568-7222

Most Los Angeles homeowners discover a KraftMaid part failure the same way: a drawer starts catching, a soft-close mechanism gives out, or a vanity door sags enough that you notice the reveal is off by an eighth of an inch. By the time it’s visible, the underlying issue has usually been developing for months. The good news is that KraftMaid uses standardized sizing and documented construction specs, which means replacement parts are identifiable and matchable if you know what you’re looking at.

Bradford Remodeling is an independent remodeling contractor, not affiliated with KraftMaid. We work with their cabinetry because the specifications are traceable and the manufacturer stands behind the product with documented warranties. That matters when you’re replacing a part and want it to fit the first time.

Which KraftMaid Models This Applies To

KraftMaid builds bathroom vanities, linen cabinets, and wall cabinets across several lines, and the compatibility question comes down to three things: the door overlay style, the hinge bore pattern, and the finish code.

The overlay style is the first thing to check. KraftMaid sells standard overlay, full overlay, and inset cabinetry, and a full-overlay door from one line will not sit flush on a standard-overlay cabinet box from another. If you open a door and look at how much of the face frame is visible, standard overlay leaves roughly 1¼ inches of frame exposed around the door. Full overlay leaves about ¼ inch. Inset doors sit flush inside the frame entirely. Getting this wrong means a replacement door that binds or leaves gaps.

For identification, KraftMaid stamps a code on the inside of the cabinet box, usually on the top or side panel near the hinge. That code tells us the line, the finish, and the build date. If you can’t find it, we measure the door, the bore spacing on the hinge holes, and the edge profile. KraftMaid uses a 35mm cup bore on most concealed hinges, which is standard, but the mounting plate offset varies between overlay styles.

On the OEM versus aftermarket question: KraftMaid’s finish colors and glazes are proprietary. A generic aftermarket door in “cognac” won’t match KraftMaid’s Cognac glaze, even if the name sounds close. For visible parts like doors, drawer fronts, and moldings, we order OEM through KraftMaid’s dealer network. For hidden hardware like soft-close dampers, hinges, and drawer slides, quality aftermarket equivalents from Blum or Salice work reliably and often ship faster to Los Angeles.

Signs Your KraftMaid Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Doors that sag or no longer sit flush. The hinge plate screws have backed out of the particleboard core or the hinge itself has worn. On full-overlay doors, even a 1/16-inch sag becomes visible because the gaps between doors are so tight.
  • Soft-close drawers that slam shut. The damper inside the slide has blown its seal or the clip that connects the drawer to the slide has snapped off. This is the single most common failure we see in Los Angeles bathrooms, partly because the humidity swings between a hot shower and the dry California air fatigue the plastic components faster.
  • Drawer fronts separating from the drawer box. KraftMaid uses a pinned-and-glued connection here. Once the glue cures hard and fails, the front wobbles even if the screws are still tight. The fix is a new front, not more glue.
  • Swollen or darkened edges on vanity doors near sinks. Water has found its way past the finish and into the substrate. KraftMaid uses a furniture-grade composite core, which resists moisture better than raw MDF, but no composite core survives standing water forever. Once the edge banding lifts, water wicks in fast.
  • Finish wear that’s gone past the color layer. If you can feel a texture change when you run your thumb over the door front, the topcoat is gone and the color layer is next. Touching up won’t hold. The door needs a factory-matched replacement.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

New painted shaker cabinets with an organized deep drawer

For a single KraftMaid component, pricing in Los Angeles breaks down like this:

  • Door only, OEM match: $120 to $450 installed, depending on size, finish, and whether the old hardware transfers.
  • Drawer front, OEM match: $90 to $320 installed, including the front, mounting screws, and alignment.
  • Complete vanity replacement with KraftMaid cabinetry: $945 to $3,540 for the vanity install, plus the cabinet cost, which varies by line and size.
  • Full bathroom remodel using KraftMaid cabinetry: $10,620 to $33,040, which includes demo, cabinet install, countertop work if required, plumbing rough-in adjustments, and finish work.

The price spread comes down to scope. A single door swap is a one-hour job. A vanity replacement means pulling the old cabinet, checking the plumbing, setting the new one level, and re-routing supply lines if the new vanity sits at a different height. A full bathroom remodel goes deeper: valve rough-ins, substrate work behind the walls, and tile or counter choices that run the gamut.

Every estimate is a written line-item price before any work starts. No numbers move at the door. And every installation carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if our work fails inside that first year, Bradford Remodeling comes back and corrects it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can safely check yourself. Pull the drawer all the way out and look at the slide clip. If the clip is broken, that’s a $15 part and you can see the failure plainly. Check whether hinge screws have simply backed out; if the hole is still tight and you can seat the screw flush again, you’ve bought yourself time. Look for the KraftMaid code inside the cabinet box and write it down before you call anyone, because that code saves a lot of back-and-forth on matching.

Where DIY goes wrong is with drawer fronts and door replacement. The mounting tolerances on full-overlay KraftMaid cabinets are tight, and a door that’s off by a quarter of an inch on the hinge plate will bind against the adjacent door. Forcing it closed to “make it fit” is how doors get chipped and hinges get bent past repair. If the part you need is a visible finish piece, let us match it OEM so the color and sheen are right. Call (903) 568-7222 and tell us what’s failed. We’ll tell you honestly if it’s a part you should replace yourself or a job worth having us handle.

Straight number, real scope, no surprises at the punch list.
