Mighty Buildings Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

If you own a Mighty Buildings home in Los Angeles, a full kitchen remodel typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 installed, depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and whether we’re reconfiguring any walls or utility runs. We stock Mighty Buildings-compatible cabinetry, countertops, and hardware locally, and we can usually start your project within two weeks of the written estimate. Most owners come to us noticing finish failures first: cabinet doors that no longer close square, countertop seams separating, or soft-close hardware that gave up quietly months ago.

We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with Mighty Buildings. What that means for you is we don’t have to wait on factory reps or proprietary timelines. We source exact-fit materials, put the scope in writing, and get the job done on a schedule that works for your kitchen.

Which Mighty Buildings Models This Applies To

A stone counter, tile backsplash and open shelf after a kitchen remodel

Mighty Buildings delivers panelized and modular homes with factory-installed kitchen packages. The kitchens ship with compact cabinetry, engineered stone or solid-surface counters, and standard-depth appliances. The key compatibility issue we see on every Los Angeles job: Mighty Buildings kitchens use 32-inch cabinet heights in some models, not the 34.5-inch standard you’ll find at big-box suppliers. If you swap in an off-the-shelf cabinet set without measuring, your countertop math goes wrong by the day’s end.

The models we work on most include the Mighty Mod and Mighty House lines, but any panelized Mighty Buildings kitchen built since roughly 2020 uses the same modular cabinet logic. Check inside a lower cabinet door for a printed label showing the series number (it’s usually a white sticker near the hinge). If that label is gone, measure the cabinet box height before you order anything. We can match OEM kitchen components or supply quality aftermarket equivalents from KraftMaid and Wellborn, which we also stock parts for, alongside Cambria and Silestone surfaces. The aftermarket route often gets you better drawer slides and a longer finish warranty than the factory parts.

Signs Your Mighty Buildings Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Cabinet doors drift or bind at the corner. Factory hinges on some Mighty Buildings units were mounted into MDF without reinforcement plates. Once the screw holes wallow out, the door sags and won’t true up no matter how many times you adjust the clip.
  • Countertop seams open near the sink or cooktop. Engineered stone expands and contracts with humidity cycles. Los Angeles can swing from 20% to 70% indoor humidity inside two weeks in spring, and panels that were seamed tight at the factory can separate by a visible eighth-inch.
  • Soft-close drawers slam shut. The damper mechanism inside the slide is a wear item. When it fails, the drawer still functions but the motion goes from hydraulically slow to a hard bang. That’s the slide telling you it’s near end of life.
  • Toe-kick panels crack or split at the base. Factory toe kicks on some units are made from a compressed fiber product that wicks water from floor mopping. Once it swells, the panel delaminates from the inside.
  • Faucet or sink flange caulk pulls away from the counter. This is often the first visible sign. It means the sink under-mount bond is shifting, and if left alone, water works into the cabinet substrate below.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A galley kitchen opened up to the dining room with a new peninsula

A full kitchen remodel on a Mighty Buildings home in Los Angeles runs $16,520 to $53,100. Where you land in that range depends on four things: linear feet of cabinetry, countertop material (solid surface runs lower, Cambria or Caesarstone runs higher), whether we’re reconfiguring plumbing or electrical, and whether we find substrate damage once the old cabinets come out.

Here’s the line-item picture for Los Angeles:

  • Small kitchen remodel: $10,620 – $23,600
  • Cabinet installation only: $4,720 – $15,340
  • Countertop installation: $2,360 – $7,670
  • Backsplash installation: $945 – $2,950
  • Kitchen island installation: $3,540 – $11,800

Every line item is written before work starts. If we open the wall and find rotted substrate or a plumbing rough-in that’s not where the plans say it should be, you’ll know the added scope and the added cost before we touch another tool. No numbers move at the door. And every part we install is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: read the cabinet label, measure box heights, and look for visible seam separation. Replacing drawer hardware or adjusting hinges is within reach for most handy owners. But removing cabinets, re-setting countertop seams, or touching any plumbing rough-in is not a weekend job. We’ve watched owners pull a lower cabinet and discover the plumbing waste line runs through the back panel in a way the factory never documented. At that point the job is no longer a swap; it’s a re-scope.

If you’ve got a failed part or a kitchen that’s tired, call us for an honest assessment. We’re at (903) 568-7222, and a live person answers.
