Toto Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
Bradford Remodeling installs and services Toto kitchen fixtures and components across Los Angeles, with full kitchen remodels running $16,520 to $53,100 depending on scope, cabinet line, and countertop material. We stock common Toto replacement parts on the truck and can source model-specific components within 48 hours. Most Los Angeles homeowners discover a failed part the hard way: a faucet cartridge that won’t stop dripping, a pull-down spray head that lost pressure, or a sink flange that’s seeping into the cabinet base.
We’re an independent Los Angeles remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Toto. We work on Toto products because the brand shows up in a lot of kitchens we tear into, and because homeowners who bought Toto typically want to keep the fixture rather than start over. Fair enough. Our job is to match the part to the model, quote the labor straight, and get your kitchen back in service without a second visit.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

Toto’s kitchen line breaks into a few recognizable families: the Clayton pull-down faucets, the Vesi and Loretta faucet series, and the older Waza model you still see in Los Angeles condos built in the 2000s. Sink compatibility is simpler: Toto under-mount and top-mount stainless sinks follow standard 33-inch and 30-inch cutout specs, which matters if the sink flange fails and the countertop has to be re-cut.
The gotcha with Toto: cartridge threads are not universal across model years. A Clayton from 2015 and a Clayton from 2021 use different ceramic cartridge assemblies. If you order the wrong one, it threads in but won’t seat, and you’ll chase a drip for a week before realizing the part never matched. How to identify: pull the spray head off and look for the model stamp on the underside of the neck, or check the original box if you kept it. If you can’t find either, take a photo of the faucet from three feet back and we can usually identify it from the silhouette and handle geometry.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Toto: the OEM cartridges are worth paying for. We’ve tried several quality aftermarket equivalents, and on Toto specifically, the aftermarket ceramic discs tend to have looser tolerances in the housing, which leads to a faint drip when the handle sits at certain angles. For spray heads and side sprayers, aftermarket is fine. For cartridges, stops, and check valves, we spec OEM. It costs $15 to $40 more, and honestly, it’s the difference between fixing it once and explaining a callback to yourself.
The other Los Angeles-specific reality: hard water in the San Fernando Valley and older sections of the city eats through Toto aerators and spray-head restrictors faster than the coastal neighborhoods see. We keep a stock of replacement aerators and debris screens on the truck because it’s the most common quick fix we perform on Toto fixtures in the Valley side of the hill.

Signs Your Toto Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Faucet won’t stop dripping at the spout. This is almost always a worn ceramic cartridge. Toto ceramic discs last roughly 7 to 10 years under normal Los Angeles water pressure before the seal compound degrades and lets water seep past. Replacing the cartridge fixes it, not tightening the handle harder.
- Spray head pressure drops to a weak stream while the main spout runs fine. The diverter inside the spray head has failed, or a debris screen is packed with scale. Cleaning the screen is a five-minute fix; a failed diverter means a new spray head assembly.
- Water collecting under the sink cabinet when the faucet runs. The under-mount sink flange has separated from the countertop, or the faucet base gasket has hardened and cracked. Los Angeles summers with low humidity accelerate gasket failure. If you catch it early, it’s a re-seal. If you don’t, you’re replacing a swollen cabinet floor.
- Handle gets stiff and hard to rotate. Mineral buildup inside the cartridge housing is binding the ceramic discs. Forced rotation scores the discs and the housing. Once scored, the cartridge is done. The lesson: if the handle starts fighting you, stop cranking it and get the cartridge swapped.
- Occasional banging or vibration when you open the faucet fast. The check valve in the spray head hose has failed and is chattering against the fitting. It’s a small part, but the vibration can crack the hose connection over time if ignored.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Los Angeles, a Toto kitchen fixture repair typically runs $150 to $400 parts and labor for most cartridge, spray head, or gasket replacements. A full kitchen remodel running Toto products that requires rough-in plumbing, cabinet work, and countertop installation spans $16,520 to $53,100, with the range driven by cabinet line (KraftMaid versus Wellborn versus custom), countertop stone choice (Cambria, Silestone, or Caesarstone), and whether walls move.
What pushes a Toto-specific remodel toward the higher end: moving the sink location, replacing a top-mount with an under-mount (countertop cut differences), adding a pot filler, or upgrading to a Toto touchless faucet that needs an electrical rough-in. What keeps it lower: a straight swap in place, same footprint, same rough-in locations.
Every job gets a written price before work starts. That price includes parts, labor, disposal, and the written scope. If the scope doesn’t change, the number doesn’t move. Every completed project carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work fails inside a year, we return and correct it at no charge. That covers the Toto fixture install, the plumbing connections, the countertop seal, and everything we touched.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. Closing the angle stops under the sink and checking the spray head screen for scale: your call, it’s a two-minute check with pliers and a small brush. Replacing a cartridge or re-sealing a sink flange: call us. Toto cartridges sit under spring tension and have small parts that score easily if installed canted. The sink flange is a running-water problem, not a drip problem, and a bad re-seal means water in the cabinet base within a week.
If you’ve already bought the part and it’s the wrong one, we’ll tell you, and we’ll source the right one through our supplier. If you’d rather not touch it at all, that’s the smarter path in most cases. One visit, one written price, one straight answer. Call (903) 568-7222 and Curtis Lane will get you sorted.
FAQs

A Toto kitchen faucet in Los Angeles averages 10 to 15 years with regular use, with the cartridge needing replacement at the 7 to 10 year mark depending on water hardness. Valley neighborhoods with harder water see cartridge swaps a little sooner. Call (903) 568-7222 for an exact diagnosis; estimates are free.
Cartridges and check valves are sealed assemblies and are not serviceable; they get replaced. Spray heads and aerators can sometimes be cleaned, but if the diverter inside has failed, replacement is the fix. We’ll tell you which one it needs before any work starts.
Most cartridge, spray head, and gasket replacements take 45 minutes to an hour on site. A full kitchen remodel built around Toto fixtures runs 6 to 10 weeks depending on cabinet lead times and countertop fabrication scheduling. We build the schedule into the written scope so you’re not guessing.
We stock common Toto aerators, spray head assemblies, supply line fittings, and a limited run of Clayton-series cartridges. Model-specific cartridges and older Waza parts are sourced from our Los Angeles supply houses within 48 hours. Call (903) 568-7222 with your model number and we’ll tell you right then whether it’s a same-trip fix.
