Tremron Roofing: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

If you’re holding a cracked Tremron roof tile or standing under a leak that started after last winter’s Santa Anas, here’s the straight answer: we source and install Tremron-compatible roofing parts across Los Angeles, and a typical tile repair or section replacement runs $710 to $2,950 installed. Most owners call us because they found a tile on the ground or noticed a water stain on the ceiling after heavy rain, and the tile itself turned out to be only half the story. What’s underneath matters just as much.

Tremron makes concrete roof tile, and in Los Angeles the two things that kill it faster than anything else are sun exposure on south-facing slopes and the expansion-contraction cycle from our hot-dry-to-cool-damp swings. Concrete tile doesn’t rot, but it does crack, spall, and shift. When it shifts, water finds the underlayment. When the underlayment goes, you’re not doing a tile swap anymore. You’re doing a roof repair. That’s the difference between a $900 job and a $2,100 job, and we’ll tell you which one you have before we touch anything.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron’s roof tile lines that we see most often in Los Angeles are the flat-profile tiles used on Spanish and Mediterranean style homes, along with their barrel and mission-style S-tiles. The flat tiles are typically 17 to 18 inches long with a 13-inch exposure, but older Tremron runs cut the length differently, so we always measure rather than assume. Here’s the gotcha: Tremron tile profiles are not always interchangeable with other concrete tile brands, even when they look close from the ground. The interlocking ribs, the nose profile, and the water channels have to line up with the adjacent tiles, or you create a leak path instead of closing one.

If you can find the original box, a packing slip, or a tile with the Tremron name stamped on the underside, that tells us the series. If you can’t, a photo and a measurement of the tile’s width, length, and nose profile gets us most of the way there. From there we’ll determine whether an OEM-matched Tremron tile is the right call, or whether a quality aftermarket concrete tile with the same profile and a matching color blend does the job at a better number. For older discontinued Tremron colors, aftermarket is often the only option, and we’ll tell you that before you spend a week hunting for a pallet that no longer exists.

Signs Your Tremron Roofing Is Failing

  • Tiles on the ground or in the gutter after a wind event. Concrete tiles are heavy; when they come loose, it usually means the fastening at the batten or the tile-to-tile interlock has failed. One tile down is a repair. A repeated pattern means the fastening method itself needs attention.
  • Water staining on the ceiling or along an exterior wall after rain. The tile isn’t the waterproof layer. The underlayment is. By the time you see interior staining, the underlayment has already been compromised somewhere uphill of the stain.
  • Hairline cracks running across the face of multiple tiles on one slope. This is thermal cycling at work. Los Angeles sees temperature swings of 40 degrees or more between day and night in some seasons, and south-facing slopes take the worst of it.
  • Efflorescence, that white chalky film, spreading across tile surfaces. It’s not just cosmetic. It means water is moving through the tile body, not off the surface. On a Los Angeles tile roof, that’s a sign the tile’s weather seal has failed and moisture is working its way in.
  • Granules or sand collecting at gutter downspouts. Concrete tile sheds a little surface material over decades, but if you’re seeing a steady stream of grit, the tile surface is degrading faster than it should, and that usually traces back to improper curing or a manufacturing variance in that Tremron run.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A home office with a built-in desk and shelves

In Los Angeles, expect to pay between $710 and $2,950 for a Tremron roof tile repair or section replacement, depending on tile count, slope accessibility, and whether the underlayment underneath has to come up. Here’s what that range actually buys you:

  • Single tile replacement or small localized patch: $710 to $1,250, including matched tile, fastener replacement, and sealant at the interlock points.
  • Section replacement of 5 to 20 tiles: $1,250 to $2,150, including tile matching, batten inspection, and underlayment patching where needed.
  • Underlayment repair combined with tile replacement: $1,750 to $2,950, including removal of the affected tile section, underlayment replacement, new fasteners, and reinstalled or replacement tiles.

Every number above is a written price before work starts, per The Garrison Standard. You’ll know the tile match, the scope, and the exact cost before a single tool comes out of the truck. And when the job is done, you get our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if the repair fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

If you want to document the damage, you can do that safely from the ground or a ladder: photograph the broken tile, measure its length and width, and check the underside for a Tremron stamp. That information helps us quote accurately. What we don’t recommend is walking a concrete tile roof yourself. Los Angeles roofs range from shallow 3:12 pitches to steep hillside slopes, and concrete tile is brittle. A misstep cracks more tiles than you started with, and a fall off a two-story Los Angeles hillside home is a hospital trip, not a Saturday project. Let us handle the roof work. Call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll get you a straightforward answer on what you’re actually dealing with.
