ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If you have ViewLux cabinetry, a failing hinge, drawer glide, or door front doesn’t mean you need an entire new kitchen. We install ViewLux-compatible kitchen remodeling parts and components in Los Angeles, with full kitchen remodels typically running $16,520 – $53,100 depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and how much of the existing layout we’re keeping. Most owners find us when a soft-close mechanism stops catching, a drawer face separates from its box, or a cabinet door hangs crooked no matter how many times it’s adjusted. The good news: individual replacement parts exist for almost every ViewLux series we see, and we keep a working stock of the common failure points on our trucks because we know which ones go first.
Bradford Remodeling is an independent contractor. We’re not affiliated with ViewLux, which is exactly why we can tell you straight when an OEM part matters and when a better-built aftermarket equivalent will outlast the original at a lower price.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

We work across the ViewLux lines commonly installed in Los Angeles kitchens over the past 15 years: the contemporary slab-door series, the shaker-profile lines, and the older thermofoil-wrapped doors that were popular in mid-2000s remodels. The easiest way to identify yours is the manufacturer label inside the drawer box or on the back of a door, usually a small white sticker with a series code. If that’s worn off, we match by measuring the hinge cup and overlay, because ViewLux has used both full-overlay and half-overlay hardware across different generations, and they are not interchangeable.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha that bites owners: ViewLux changed its hinge cup drilling pattern on some lines around 2016. A hinge that looks identical from the front won’t seat correctly in an older door, and forcing it strips the cup and ruins the door. We check the drilling spec before ordering anything. On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: for Blum-style soft-close hinges and drawer glides, quality aftermarket equivalents often cost 30 – 40% less and carry a longer cycle rating than the original spec. For color-matched door and drawer fronts, we stay OEM because aftermarket paint and grain matching on a visible face is where the cheap options fall apart. In Los Angeles, where dry air and sun exposure cycle cabinet boxes through expansion and contraction year-round, the door-front match is the one place we won’t compromise.

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Soft-close hinge stops catching on one door. The internal damper cylinder has worn or the clip has slipped. On thermofoil doors, this is often the first failure you’ll see because the door weight is fighting a hinge designed for less load.
- Drawer front sags or pulls away from the box. The glue bond between the front and the drawer box has weakened, usually from repeated temperature swings. In older California kitchens without HVAC in the cabinet run, this shows up faster than anywhere else in the house.
- Drawer glide grinds or binds halfway open. One of the ball-bearing tracks has lost a ball or gotten grit packed into the race. Once a glide is grinding, lubrication won’t fix it; the track is already pitted.
- Hinge screws keep loosening no matter how many times they’re tightened. The screw holes in the cabinet box have wallowed out. The real fix is a threaded insert or dowel-and-redrill, not a longer screw, which splits the particleboard and makes the problem worse.
- Door hangs low on one corner and scrapes the door below. This is usually a hinge cup that has pulled free of its press-fit in the back of the door, especially on the thinner 5/8-inch door profile. The cup needs to be re-set with epoxy or the door needs replacing.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Los Angeles, replacing the common ViewLux failure points runs like this:
- Soft-close hinge replacement: $15 – $40 per hinge, installed, depending on series and whether we’re matching OEM or upgrading to a heavier-duty equivalent.
- Drawer glide replacement: $25 – $60 per drawer pair, installed, with full-extension ball-bearing glides as the baseline.
- Cabinet door re-mount or hinge cup repair: $85 – $180 per door, including re-setting the cup, re-drilling as needed, and adjusting the reveal so it sits square.
- Drawer front re-bond and alignment: $60 – $140 per drawer, including clamping time, fresh adhesive, and a 24-hour cure before the drawer goes back into service.
- Full kitchen remodel (ViewLux-compatible cabinetry, counters, and install): $16,520 – $53,100, depending on scope, materials, and whether we’re keeping the existing footprint.
Every price is written down before work starts. That’s The Garrison Standard, and it’s non-negotiable. You get a line-item breakdown with the part cost and the labor separated so you can see exactly what you’re paying for, and every repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the hinge fails or the drawer pulls out of true again inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
There are a few things an owner can safely check before calling: tighten hinge screws by hand with the correct Phillips bit (not a drill), wipe glide tracks clean and look for loose ball bearings, and verify the cabinet box itself isn’t pulling away from the wall. Those checks cost you nothing and help us diagnose faster. But when a hinge cup has pulled out of the back of a door, a drawer front is separating, or a glide track is pitted, this is where DIY goes sideways. Getting the reveal right on a re-mounted door takes patience and a second set of hands, and forcing a misdrilled hinge cup ruins the door permanently. If you’re not sure which ViewLux series your kitchen has, call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll figure it out over the phone in about five minutes.
FAQs

In our experience across Los Angeles, soft-close mechanisms on ViewLux cabinetry typically last 8 – 12 years under daily use before the damper cylinder starts to fade, and drawer glides usually last 10 – 15. Homes without central air see more rapid failure on the hinge side because the doors expand and contract with humidity swings, even in LA’s dry climate. Call (903) 568-7222 if you’re seeing early failures; sometimes the issue is installation, not the part itself.
Blum-style soft-close dampers inside ViewLux hinges are sealed units and are not rebuildable; once the catch gives out, the hinge gets replaced. Glides with a lost ball bearing are also done for. But a hinge screw hole that’s wallowed out can often be repaired with a threaded insert instead of replacing the cabinet side, which we do regularly. Call (903) 568-7222 and we’ll tell you honestly which path makes sense for your cabinet.
A standard hinge or glide swap on a run of cabinets takes 2 – 3 hours from truck arrival to adjusted-and-closing, assuming no hidden damage to the cabinet boxes. A full door re-mount with hinge cup re-set takes about an hour per door to get the reveal right. We’ll give you a written time window before we schedule the truck roll.
We keep soft-close hinges, full-extension drawer glides, and mounting hardware for the most common ViewLux series on our Los Angeles service trucks at all times. Color-matched door and drawer fronts are special-order because the finish match has to be exact. We’ll tell you on the first call whether we can fix it same-day or need to order, and the written estimate covers either path.
No. The written price we give you before work begins is the price you pay, and if we open the cabinet and find something unexpected, we stop and give you a new written price before proceeding. That’s been how Bradford Remodeling operates since Curtis Lane took the operation over, and it’s the same standard we hold on a $30 hinge swap and a full Los Angeles kitchen remodel. Straight number, real scope, no surprises at the punch list.
